On The 24th of July 2020 A Fast For Our Nation

This came to me when I was observing the Sabbath last week. I asked God if He had a word for me and He led me to Nehemiah 9. Israel was repenting and confessing their sins while fasting and praying for their nation.

I will be doing the same on the 24th of July, September 26th, and October 24th. I would appreciate anyone wanting to join me. Please e-mail me at comments@walkwithgod.blog to let me know if you will be joining me.

So to start any prayer the scripture says in Psalm 100:4 NIV “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise: give thanks to Him and praise His name.”

The next step would be to confess our personal sins. 1 John 1:9 NIV “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Then we can confess our national sin. I believe it needs to be past and present sin. Examples would include but not limited to;

Injustice/discrimination against race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, women, children, etc. Including slavery.

Abortions – 623,471 abortions according to the CDC for 2016 alone.

Sexual Immorality of any kind

Hatred and the justification of it.

Idol worship- ex. material possessions, money, political parties, political groups, political leaders, culture, social media, entertainers, our opinions, anything/one we put before the Lord.

For denying God as divine, the only true living God. Jeremiah 10:10 AMP “But the Lord is the true God and the God who is Truth; He is the living God and the ever lasting King. The earth quakes and shudders at His wrath, and the nations are not able to endure His indignation.”

For denying Jesus as the Christ. John 4:16 NIV “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Matt. 16:16 NIV “…You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

I will be praying for the healing of our nation.

For the poor and disenfranchised to the strengthening and prosperity of the same.

For the stability of the middle class and the increasing of their numbers.

For full & prosperous employment.

For the health and wisdom of all our citizens and leaders.

For the peace of our nation and our continent from external and internal enemies.

For all of us, including our leaders, to always desire and to do the right thing.

Of course you will add to/change this prayer to what you want to say to the Lord.

Please do something kind for someone today and everyday as service to the Lord and as part of fasting according to Isaiah 58.

Romans 12:1 NIV “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship.”

Hebrews 6:10 NIV “God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.”

Galatians 5:13 NIV “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

Mark 10:45 NIV “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
