Blessings Great and Small

The Song I Sing

Colossians 3:17
New Living Translation (NLT)

17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

The Song I Sing

Could it be the turkey golden?
Roasting in a silvery pan,
Or perhaps the stuffing savory,
Spicy aroma from a foreign land,

Corn and cobbler,
Beans and beets,
Rolls and cornbread,
A plethora of tasty treats,

Cakes and pies,
Coffee and tea,
And all day long
There’s football on the tv,

Could it be that’s why I thankful?
Could it be all that I desire?
Or could there be a grander blessing?
One that’s worthy to inspire,

A blessing far beyond the day,
A blessing of a lifetime,
Given life and having lost it,
You paid the price for my every crime,

That’s the thankful song I sing,
And I sing it again and again,
You loved me with a love so grand,
Had you not, where would I have been.

Father,

Thank You for sending Your son to set me free. There is no greater blessing. Nothing else to be so thankful for.

How Full Is Your Glass?

Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:18
New Living Translation (NLT)

18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

A Simple Note of Thanks

A simple note to say how much
I appreciate this life,
The sun, the moon, and all the stars,
My family and my wife,

The food I eat,
The car I drive,
All the things I possess
That keep us alive,

My home so sweet
It’s filled with love,
Where peace descends
Like a cooing dove,

My health still good,
My back still strong,
I love this life
Whether it’ll be short or long,

And the best thing of all
Is that somehow I know,
That You hear me in heaven
When I speak down here below.

Father,

On this Thanksgiving week, I am most grateful that You are near. Thank You for every kindness.
