New Living Translation (NLT)
24 There are “friends” who destroy each other,
but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
How sweet it would be to fight no more
To lay this burden down,
It matters not who’s right or wrong
But can peace somehow be found?
Is there a way set aside
Our griefs, our hurts, our pains?
To simply agree to disagree
And act like friends again,
What would it take to realize?
The treasure that we’ve lost,
When friends are no longer friendly,
How can you count the cost?
What price set you on friendship?
What value does it hold?
When did it lose its meaning,
Has it always been this cold?
So here we are with only questions
And those begat a thousand more,
Perhaps the only path to peace
Lay on a separate shore,
So walk away and don’t look back
And do not shed a tear,
Remember me as I will you
As someone I once held dear.

You are a friend like no other. Not once have You ever failed us. Not once have You left us. Not once have You not loved us. We thank You and praise You for who You are…our Friend!
