Unexpected

Unexpected

John 10:27-30
New International Version (NIV)

27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

Unexpected

It happened oh so suddenly
From out there in left field,
I never could have guessed it
It was totally concealed,

Not a smidgen of idea,
Not an inkling of a thought,
Not a moment to get ready
For off guard I was caught,

Then quickly I was spinning
With things out of my control,
Fate had laid her hand upon me
With chaos her painful goal,

When things had finally settled down
And my head begun to clear,
Though I laid there deeply wounded
I would live to persevere,

The hand of fate is powerful
On that I must agree,
But it pales away in comparison
To the hand that’s holding me.

Father,

Your mighty hand has made all of creation and it holds all things in their place. May our place always be found within You.
