Faithful Caregiver

Luke 13:34
New Living Translation (NLT)

34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.

Bluebird in the morning,
Sunlight on its wings,
Awaits the day’s beginning
As its mate now starts to sing,

He sits atop a rustic fence
Surveying the morning fare,
A caterpillar crawls near him
And he is suddenly aware,

He lifts his song with fervor,
He lifts it to the sky,
Singing gives him pleasure
As the melody reaches high,

Then suddenly he spreads his wings
And quickly takes to flight,
Landing near a hollow tree
Babes crying loudly out of sight,

A dash inside to check on them
Perhaps to leave a bug or seed,
Then out once more to search again
For all that they will need,

All day long they’re in and out,
They’ll need to be quite strong,
Until the babes are on their own
The days will be hard and long.

  1. Let not your heart be troubled,”
    his tender word I hear,
    and resting on his goodness,
    I lose my doubts and fears;
    though by the path he leadeth
    but one step I may see:
    his eye is on the sparrow,
    and I know he watches me;
    his eye is on the sparrow,
    and I know he watches me…..thanks for the tune I will be humming now! 🙂
