New Living Translation (NLT)

Do Not Love This World

15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

Father,

Guard our hearts from the siren’s call of this world. Keep us daily in Your light. Thank You, Lord!

    • Thank you for the kind words. Most of my poems just seem to “appear”. The strangest phrase will just come to me and I just start writing. All that to say, “I don’t really feel that I can claim much thought-provoking process in writing these poems. Not trying to make it seem like some “mystical” thing either, yet it does seem that often, I simply pick up the pen and listen.

      Thank you again though!
