Betrayed

With a Kiss

Mark 14:43-46
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Judas Kiss

43 While He was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. With him was a mob, with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders. 44 His betrayer had given them a signal. “The One I kiss,” he said, “He’s the One; arrest Him and take Him away under guard.” 45 So when he came, he went right up to Him and said, “Rabbi!”—and kissed Him. 46 Then they took hold of Him and arrested Him.

With a Kiss

They come to you in camouflage
Never what they seem to be,
Wolves in sheep’s clothing
Not wanting you to see,

They wear a smile so easy
Never cross you to your face,
But wait until your back is turned
And your character they’ll debase,

What makes them be so two-faced?
Why must they always betray?
There’s something wrong inside them
That makes them be that way,

So do your best to show them mercy
Even when they deserve it not,
It’s hard to forgive the serpent’s kiss
But even harder that it be forgot.

Father,

Enter into our hearts and change us from within. That is the only way that we might forgive as You forgive and not remember it again. Thank You, Lord!
