Set My Eyes on the Prize

Job 12:7-10
New Living Translation (NLT)

7 “Just ask the animals, and they will teach you.
Ask the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.
8 Speak to the earth, and it will instruct you.
Let the fish in the sea speak to you.
9 For they all know that my disaster has come from the hand of the Lord.
10 For the life of every living thing is in his hand,
and the breath of every human being.

Go Ye Exploring!

Wouldn’t we all like to be an explorer?
Set sail on the open seas,
Plot a course to an unknown destination
With just a dream and the force of the breeze,

Follow the sun from morn’ to evening
And navigate by the stars at night,
Driven on by the spirit of wanderlust,
The adventure’s our treasure and delight,

Or maybe you’d rather scale a mountain,
Challenge both the body and mind,
Reaching for heights so amazing
Up where even eagles are hard to find,

Then again you could dive in the ocean,
Down where the sea monsters hide,
Be the first to swim to the bottom,
You’ll be persistent and not be denied,

Or blast off on a rocket sent to the moon,
Set free from the grip of gravity,
Then gaze at Earth from whence you came,
And ponder “how small that ye be”

After all of these adventures are o’er,
Maybe you’ll consider all that you’ve seen,
And you’ll decide to explore the maker
Of everything seen and unseen,

And wouldn’t that be quite a treasure,
To discover the creator of all that you saw,
Who guided you by the sun and the stars,
And filled you with wonder and awe

We want to be explorers. We want to seek You out and find You. We want to find the greatest treasure of all…You. Guide us Lord, to where You are.
