Typically Jaded

Psalm 19:1-4
New Living Translation (NLT)

1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
2 Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
3 They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.

God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.

Becoming Too Typical?

Has life become so typical?
Like a flat beer without any head,
Do we get out of bed to miracles?
Or do we wake up filled only with dread?

Do we climb every mountain with gusto?
Or resist a single change to our life,
Do we jump at the thrill of romance?
Or only remember rejection’s cut like a knife,

Does the sky fill us up with wonder?
Or do our eyes only fill up with tears,
Does the songbird sound like a symphony?
Or do we always place our hands over our ears,

Everything will always be typical,
If we live life safe; giving nothing a chance,
There are none as blind as those who will not see,
Or give the extraordinary a second glance

You fill the universe with wonders galore. We can look in any direction and find miracles beyond believing, from the tiniest of particles to galaxies filled with stars and planets too many to number. Please, Lord, touch our hearts and minds so that we will never look upon this world and say that it’s typical. If we do, then we are surely the walking dead. Thank You for every single miracle that appears before us. May we not miss a single one.
