Betrayed by Our Actions

Conversant

1 Samuel 16:7
New Living Translation (NLT)

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Speaking Without Tongues

We speak in many languages
Our messages to impart,
Some don’t even need the use of words
To show what’s hiding in our heart,

Just the way we stand or sit
Or even fold our arms,
Tells the world just what we think
Like the ringing of an alarm,

And if we’re angry we can’t hide
That glare coming from our eyes,
No more than we can conceal our love
When that special someone passes by,

So you might as well open up
And see what being conversant brings,
Your unspoken words tell all anyway
And reveal your hidden things

Father,

You know our every thought, our ever motive. Be with us and change our hearts and minds so that we speak only in love. Thank You, Lord for every kindness.

  1. So true…sometimes I despair of my un-Christian ways which outshout my declarations…but then I lean into HIM anew, remember that HE’s changing me from glory to glory as I continue to behold HIM. It’s our only hope. God bless you today!

    • There’s many examples of this but I always liked the story that Mother Teresa went through a period where she almost quit being a nun because she didn’t believe in God.

I guess we all have doubts sometimes, but true faith would seem to be (at least to me) that part of you that just keeps hanging on to God. Like when a number of followers left Jesus but the twelve stayed. He asked them why they stayed and they replied, “Where else could we go?”

He is changing us all and aren’t we grateful for that blessing.

      Take care.
