New Living Translation (NLT)
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
Why is it such a problem?
What’s standing in the way?
We complain about our busy lives,
That we’re going to change…someday,
It might be all the stuff up in the attic,
Or maybe how we always seem to work,
But we’re going to rearrange our life
Before we go berserk,
We’re going to take some time off,
And together do a thing or two,
We’re going to hug the folks we care about
Before our time is through,
We might decide to take a trip,
We might write the novel grand,
We might change the world for the better
Or just give others a helping hand,
Whatever it might be
That’s left a calling card upon your door,
Open up and let it in
Before there’s no time left anymore,
It’s just a simple recipe,
There’s nothing strange or odd,
Just set aside everything that you don’t need
Until you’re only left with God,

Bless us with a heart and mind attuned to that which is most important. We push and shove, hurry and worry, and beat ourselves to death…over trinkets. Have mercy upon us and help us to change. Thank You!
