How Could I?

Hebrews 12:1-3
New Living Translation (NLT)

God’s Discipline Proves His Love

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

How Could I Sympathize?

How could I ever sympathize?
How could I know your pain?
If I had one million years
I could never quite explain,

The sorrow that your heart must hold,
The betrayal that cuts just like a knife,
When all of those you came to save
Would call out for your life,

And those who were so very close
Would deny they knew you at all,
When you had done before them
Miracles both great and small,

And how could I imagine
Your pain and agony
To feel the life’s blood drain from you
On a hill for all to see

And harder still than all of that
It’s impossible for me to comprehend
Of how you could endure all you did
And still be willing to call us friend

Thank You for sending Jesus! Thank You for His sacrifice! We are able to come before You now, not by our worth or works, but by the incomprehensible gift He gave us…His righteousness. And though we cannot understand it, we sing His praise and give Him glory. Thank You, Lord Jesus!
