Proverbs 15:15
New Living Translation (NLT)

15 For the despondent, every day brings trouble;
for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.

This poem is metered
In an undulating way
To reveal the rhythm
Of its to and fro sway

It does this without
Any meaning for the words
It simply feels good
If you’re a wordy nerd

It lifts up its voice
And then it trickles off
There is a reason
And you had better not scoff

The rhythmic meter
Of its meaningless refrain
Will put you to sleep
Like a shot of novacaine

So Insomniacs
Keep this poem close at hand
Read it once or twice
And you’ll be off to dreamland

Thank You for a happy heart. It is a weapon that defeats the troubles of this world. It is the result of the hope we have in Jesus. May all who read this find hope and joy.

  1. if you can get someone to make a positive comment about a poem that I am positive said nothing then your poems must have a positive influence even when they are positively about nothing – notice I rhymed positive with positive, you have inspired me 😉 now for the positive comment – I enjoyed this poem and I will test its efficacy for inducing sleep – hoping for positive results!

    • I’m “positive” it works since I fell asleep twice trying to write it. Thanks for reading and commenting. Sometimes I just like to write for the fun of writing. Hope no one objects?
