Why So Forlorn?

Forlorn

Jeremiah 29:11
New Living Translation (NLT)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

The Thorns of the Forlorn

Why is the world so very forlorn?
Why are so many tears shed?
Wouldn’t it be better to laugh a bit
And not be filled with so much dread?

The sky is still blue
And the sun still shines
There are fish in the oceans
And fruit on the vines

There’s little or no reason
At least that I can see
To throw up our hands
And live so chaotically

God is on His throne
Throughout endless time
He protects His children
With a love sublime
