Be Still and Know

Psalm 33:6-9
New Living Translation (NLT)

6 The Lord merely spoke,
and the heavens were created.
He breathed the word,
and all the stars were born.
7 He assigned the sea its boundaries
and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.
8 Let the whole world fear the Lord,
and let everyone stand in awe of him.
9 For when he spoke, the world began!
It appeared at his command.

I stand silent
Looking hard and long at the night sky,
Where myriads upon myriads of lights
Point the way,
And illuminate my mind
With wonder!
And all the while
Your still, small voice
Whispers love songs
That caress my soul and fill me with hope.
I love the ancient writings
That tell me of the past, the present, and the future,
But nothing speaks more truth
Than that Voice.
I stand silent and in love.

Thank You seems so insignificant, so small, and I would seem even smaller if not for Your Word. Through it I know the Good News of Jesus and from Your Voice I know You are here. Help me each day to hear and see more clearly, and to speak the truth wherever I can.
