Meager Vision

2 Timothy 3:1-3
New Living Translation (NLT)

3 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good

Meager In Our Minds

We think our lives so meager
It’s all a point of view
We never have quite enough
No matter what we do

We have a nice warm home
And a car to get around
But looking in the mirror
A smile is hardly found

Our kids all get to go to school
And not a sick one in the bunch
Still we complain to our coworkers
About the service where we had lunch

Last year we got a swimming pool
We already had a swell man-cave
Why aren’t we getting what we deserve
After all we work like some kind of slave

And Santa’s list is getting long
It’s just that time of the year
If we didn’t have so many folks to buy for
We’d buy that golf cart free and clear

Well, maybe in a year or two
When the kids are college bound
We can have some time to ourselves
If that second job can be found

You see, we think our lives so meager
If we don’t read between the lines
And thank the Lord above for blessing us
A million, zillion times

Thank You for the many blessings You give to us – family, friends, food, clothing, shelter, and millions more. Most of all thank You for redeeming us through Jesus. Give us eyes to see the amazing lives we live. May we never think life to be meager.
