Living Too Gingerly

Isaiah 40:29-31
New Living Translation (NLT)

29 He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

Guarded Flight

So gingerly perched atop a tree
Wondering what its fate might be

Holding on tight amid the fierce winds
Fighting the buffeting that it sends

Feeling at times it’s above it all
Yet knowing also that it could easily fall

Grasping so hard to this frail lifeline
Not sure if it’s physical or something divine

And finally taking off in desperate flight
Knowing only that it must follow the Light

Though I find myself in the darkest of the depths I will trust You and the Light that You send, for You are the only God and my only hope. You have never let me down…No, not even once. Thank You!
