Keep Singing!

Succumb

Romans 12:17-21
New Living Translation (NLT)

17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,
“I will take revenge;
I will pay them back,”
says the Lord.
20 Instead,
“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give them something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap
burning coals of shame on their heads.”
21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

Fight the Darkness

Have we laid down and died
Have we so lost our way
That while we are yet breathing
We have already passed away

Have we lost the will to do good
Are we traveling in the dark
Has the light of righteousness
Lost its eternal spark

And while we all complain and sit
And never lift a hand
Has the music stopped playing
Is it time to pay the band

Or is there one more verse to play
One last chance to overcome
Or perhaps a final chorus left
To sing and not succumb

Father,

Give us joy! Fill us with a gladness for Your will and Your way.
Shine Your light into the darkness and lead us home.

Thank You, Lord!

  1. Hello, William, how have you been? Quite a long time has passed since I last visited your blog, but I remain aware that I am one of your blog’s followers. Seeing it is a Saturday evening here, I thought I would read what you have posted today, and I agree your words are nourishing. I don’t think I’d ever reflected on those verses in today’s post.
