Mighty Enough To Wait

Proverbs 16:31-33
New Living Translation (NLT)

31 Gray hair is a crown of glory;
it is gained by living a godly life.
32 Better to be patient than powerful;
better to have self-control than to conquer a city.
33 We may throw the dice,
but the Lord determines how they fall.

The Mighty Will Wait

The world is full of mighty things
At least that’s what the tv says
From scrubbing bubbles for our bathrooms
To the shampoo on our heads

And don’t forget the tv shows
That make us want to spend our dough
From the cradle to the grave
They tell us we must buy and owe

Buy and owe
Buy and owe
We must buy
And we must owe

Don’t even think, ponder, or wait
Neither postpone nor even plan
You are due all that you desire
Why not? There’s plastic in your hand

So get in line for what you want
The banks will sell you more than you can pay
They’ll help you buy your big dream home
Then foreclose, and take it all away

Borrow and lose
Borrow and lose
We must borrow
And we must lose

Our minds are not our own it seems
We’re told just what to think and be
The mighty control our very thoughts and deeds
While we still believe we’re brave and free

So grab that remote and turn that dial
Don’t wait, do it while you can
There’s only one really mighty force
A righteous and patient man

Wait and grow
Wait and grow
We will wait
And we will grow

You tell us that we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Please help us to develop self control and to live holy lives. Then we will gain Your favor that is more valuale than silver and gold.

Thank You, Lord for every blessing!
