New International Version (NIV)
7 Be still before the LORD
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
The rose can be so lovely
Its beauty fills the eye
But it can give a thorny prick
That will really make you cry
And the porcupine has lots of quills
That stick and really hurt
So you better give him lots of room
Or get your just desserts
And those cute little sea urchins
That line the seashore rocks
Will give you a poisonous sting
If you don’t wear shoes and socks
And there are some folks here among us
Who live on anger and regret
With smiles upon their faces
They will not forgive nor forget
So you should heed this little warning
If upon them you should fall one day
Turn around as quick as possible
Then run fast and far away
