Gone with the Grainy

Grainy

Isaiah 42:15-17
New International Version (NIV)

15 I will lay waste the mountains and hills
and dry up all their vegetation;
I will turn rivers into islands
and dry up the pools.
16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do;
I will not forsake them.
17 But those who trust in idols,
who say to images, ‘You are our gods,’
will be turned back in utter shame.

Soon Made Smooth

The Earth lies grainy and rough
It strains at its deepest core
And its struggling sinews flex and rise
Its birth pains soon will be no more

God from His heavenly throne
Has ordained evil to meet its demise
The mountains will crumble and fall
The valleys will awake and arise

A covenant as old as all time
The Bridegroom will come for His bride
Mercy has paid the Bride Price
And His people will live by His side

The curse is finally over
All heaven and Earth give a yell
The devil and all of his minions
Are swallowed up into their hell

All creation can once again rest
And order is restored throughout
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb of God!”
Let every tongue sing and shout.

Father,

We are so small and know so little that it’s easy to feel that we are hopeless. That the politicians, financiers, the movers and shakers have us by the scruff of the neck and we are at their mercy, but we are not. You have always had a plan for us that is good and full of promise, that has justice at its heart, and that cannot be stopped. You are simply waiting until everything is just right. Thank You for loving us so. Please move within the lives of those who do not yet know You and answer their prayers. Bless them with healing and resources and wisdom so they will know for sure that You are just waiting for them to say “yes” to You. You are our One true hope. Thank You so.
