Glaringly Unprepared

Revelation 1:13-15
New International Version (NIV)

13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.

I took a walk today
Strolled down the street
And up the narrow way

I saw what I could see
Watched clouds drift by
And flowers in the breeze

I heard the brook roll by
Stood on the bridge
And saw a bird fly high

Then on the ground I fell
Blinding light shone
And angel voice did peal

“He is King! He is King!”
From every mouth
And each tongue, “Let it ring!”

Looking up, at Him there
His hair was white
And eyes a fiery glare

My heart with fear near died
As thunder rang
And stars fell from the sky

But then He spoke with Love
“Come up, my friend
And be with me above”

I gladly took His Hand
Both God and man
That brought me home again

How often I walk through Your glorious creation without giving a thought, without being grateful, or without being prepared to meet You. What would happen if You actually sent an angel with a vision of Jesus as He is in heaven. Would I be ready? Would You call me Friend? Please help me today, to be what You would have me be.

Thank You for each and every blessing. May I never waste them. Amen!
