Not a Solo but a Symphony

2 Timothy 2:20-22
New International Version (NIV)

20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

The Master’s Music

There is a symphony playing
The conductor is directing
The strings are singing
The horns are blowing
The drums are keeping perfect time
And I
I am offbeat
I am playing my own melody
And as hard as I try
And as well as I play
It will always be out of tune
I must yield
I must come under the beat of the whole orchestra
That is what makes it a symphony
And I am far from in sync
I believe myself a rock star
A celebrity
Someone that the whole world would pause for
But no…
I am merely me
And I am out of tune

Let me feel the beat of Your Grand Symphony. Let me get in sync with Your count. There is a better way and that is Your way. Help me each day to watch, to listen, and to yield to Your baton.

Thank You, Lord for this Grand Symphony of life.
