New International Version (NIV)
60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
You Can’t Take It With You?
I will not live a life of strife and stress
But choose rather to be buried with happiness
To blanket myself in heavenly ways
And turn my back on the world’s dark days
To dance and to sing amid life’s horrors
And laugh in the face of trials and sorrows
To hang my hopes on a bright Morning Star
And hold on tightly to the Hand with the scar
To dream of that day when all things are new
And He wipes the tears from the face of me and you
Some will say “poppycock” and others “amen”
Only time will tell whose right in the end
But I, will not live a life of strife and stress
I choose rather to be buried with happiness

You place before us life and death, we choose life. Those who live with darkness, who curl up beside sorrow and strife, and go to bed with grief will find themselves buried with death. Help us to do battle against death as David fought Goliath. It is You who wins the battle, but we are called to stand before the enemy in faith. May our faith never falter.
Thank You, Lord. Amen.
