Refuge

Psalm 18:2
New International Version (NIV)

2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

When you look around today does your world seem out of control? Everyone seems to be on edge. We are split like never before on every issue. The world seems to be closer than ever to war. It’s enough to make you want to pull your hair out and run into a closet and shut the door behind you. Where is hope? Where is safety? Where is light?

Father,

You are our great provider. You are our strong foundation. In You and only You can we find light and life. Fill us with Your love. Let it overflow from us and conquer the darkness. When there is strife, when there is suffering, when there is darkness all around, let us see You in our life. Let us come to Oneness with You. Let Your Spirit guide us until we are home with You. There we will be new creatures. Not fixed or patched up, but brand new. That is our hope. That is our refuge. That is our salvation.

We stand before You, Lord and ask these things in Jesus’ name, knowing full well that You love us beyond measure.

Thank You.

Amen.
